    Introduction

    About me

I'm Ana, a Clinical Psychologist based in Lisbon, Portugal. I'm originally from Gaia, a lovely city in the north of Portugal, where my grandparents and my best friend still live.

More often than not, life confronts us with change, loss, and other experiences that we feel deeply. These moments can bring conflicting emotions and affect our well-being, how we function at work or school, and how we see the world.

My work aims to support you through these challenges, helping you overcome obstacles, gain a clearer understanding of who you are and where your journey may lead, and develop strategies to face the difficulties in your life.

In our sessions, you will find an informal and safe space where you can be yourself without judgment. We will work together to explore your experiences and focus on what you need, in the way that fits you best. Clients often appreciate the openness and transparency of our work together, as well as the balance between emotional support and thoughtful challenge that helps encourage growth.

I frequently support people navigating career crossroads, academic or work-related stress, relationship breakups, and anxiety, as well as those seeking personal development and greater self-understanding.

    My approach

What it's like to work with me

    First session:

In the first session, you can expect empathy, openness, and transparency. We’ll explore what has brought you to therapy, discuss your expectations, and clarify how I can support you. This is an important moment for us to begin building a strong and open therapeutic relationship.

    Progress in therapy:

Progress looks different for everyone. In general, therapy is moving forward when clients feel able to live more authentically and meaningfully — often by reframing difficult experiences and developing strategies they can apply independently in their daily lives.

    Between sessions:

Much of the change in therapy happens between sessions. When helpful, we may agree on small activities or reflections outside our meetings so you can continue exploring certain topics or practising new strategies.

    Beyond therapy

Why I love being a therapist

What I value most about being a therapist is the opportunity to support people as they grow and discover their own strength. I find it deeply meaningful to help someone feel empowered, creating a safe space where they can explore, question, and sometimes challenge the ways they see themselves and the world.

    My interests & joys

Outside of my work as a psychologist, I enjoy reading and creative writing, especially fantasy literature such as Tolkien and The Lord of the Rings. I’m also a fan of storytelling worlds like Star Wars, the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and tabletop role-playing games like Dungeons & Dragons. In my free time, I also enjoy music, sewing and cross-stitching, running, travelling, and spending time with my cats.
